Couples
August 8, 2025
I was unsure at first when I received a message about a proposal in Mystic Falls. The details were vague, and I thought it might be a prank. But when I met Syler, everything made sense. He shared that his girlfriend, Laura, was a big fan of The Vampire Diaries. He had been planning this surprise for months, and Laura was completely in the dark.
Syler promised to take Laura to see Mystic Falls, especially since she loved the show. They drove all the way from Oklahoma for this special trip. During the shoot, it was exciting to hear about their journey and the love they shared.
As we prepared for the big moment, I made a few trips to Covington to plan the best spots for the proposal. We wanted to capture everything beautifully, especially the area between the Clocktower and the Mystic Grill. Finding the right frame was key to making their moment unforgettable.
On the day of the proposal, nerves kicked in. The weather was unpredictable, and I worried about rain ruining everything. But just in time, the clouds cleared away, letting in that warm, golden light of early evening. It was perfect for capturing beautiful photos.
When the moment came, Syler dropped to one knee in front of the Clocktower. Laura looked surprised. Then, she said, “Yes!” Her joy was evident, and you could feel the love between them. I felt honored to be part of their story.
This sweet couple deserves all the happiness in the world. Their engagement session was filled with magic, surprise, and that beautiful Southern charm of Mystic Falls. I wish them a lifetime of love and memorable moments together.
